I was recently hired to make casual portraits of structural engineers. I elected to use the "structural elements" of the firms building in Reston Virginia.
While in Auburn Hills MI shooting a job for Volkswagen, I was able to make some images in their collections room. I'm a big fan of old Volkswagen Beetles and Buses. I owned a 1972 Beetle and later a 1985 GTI. It's nice to work with a company with such an incredible background in designing unique vehicles.
Washington Dulles international Airport (IAD) has a new people mover system called the AeroTrain. The system utilizes 29 Mitsubishi Crystal Movers. Last week we photographed the AeroTrains for Mitsubishi. The Aerotrain is a welcome addition to Dulles Airport. I do a lot of work on white backgrounds and there are a few subtle choices to be made . One of the big issues is whether or not to completely silhouette or "float" the image.
